Frequently Asked Questions

How long does quoting from a STEP file take?
Typically within 24 business hours for standard parts. Complex orders (multiple parts, special materials, tight tolerances) may need 2 business days for DFM review and accurate machining planning.
What is the standard tolerance? Can I request tighter?
Standard machining tolerance is ±0.05mm (ISO 2768 medium). Precision CNC milling/turning: ±0.01–0.02mm. Wire EDM: ±0.003–0.005mm. Grinding: ±0.002–0.005mm. Tighter requirements must be noted on the drawing — cost and leadtime increase accordingly.
Can you machine mold inserts?
Yes. 5-axis milling + sinker EDM is the standard combination for mold inserts. Materials: SKD11/61, P20, NAK80, H13. CMM measurement report available on request. Surface finish from Ra 0.8µm to Ra 0.05µm (EDM + polishing).
What is the smallest diameter Swiss-type can machine?
Swiss-type handles parts from Diam. 1mm to 32mm, max length 300mm, L/D ratio up to 10:1. Suitable for implant screws, miniature shafts, electronic connectors, watch components — production runs from 100 pieces up.
Do you provide inspection reports?
Yes on request — dimensional report, surface roughness report, CMM report. AS9102 First Article Inspection (FAI) report can be arranged for aerospace customers. Additional cost depending on requirements.
I only have a PDF drawing, no 3D file. Can you quote?
Yes, but the PDF must have full 3 views (Top/Front/Side) with complete dimensions and tolerances on all critical features. If the drawing is missing information, our engineers will contact you to confirm before proceeding — we do not manufacture with ambiguous information.
